Harsh it might be, but speak the truth and shame the devil.
I think you kindly sent us a Christmas themed pop up yesterday….I was not at home when it popped up, defied all Leo’s attempts to trap it and popped down again. But, whatever it was, many thanks!
It was just a Christmas greetings email. Along with seasonal greetings there was an offer – good for 4 hours only – of a large sum of cash. Not hearing back, I gave the cash to someone else but have a nice holiday anyway. 😈 Nah…I just passed along a WordPress website from a US ex-pat who has lived in Costa Rica for maybe 15 years and who blogs about her 5 dogs. I know – a rookie number of dogs. I’ll dig up her site and post a link later.
Thank you in any case…money or not! I’d be glad to see the link when you have time, butI expect by now you are caught up in the whirl of preparations, hanging milk bones from Max’s tree – he does have his own doesn’t he? – stashing the booze within arm’s reach and planning how to best terrify friends and family on Zoom.
Have a great holiday, all of you!
Expectations can certainly be harsh, but the reality displayed here isn’t bad at all. Max, DogDad and DogMom would never be without treats for you, no matter what your expectations are!
Don’t tell Murphy, but one of her stuffed animals that Santa dropped off already, has a squeaker that doesn’t squeak! She will be very upset Christmas morning because that’s what she always goes for first.
Max, Murphy and I wish you and DD and DM a really Merry Christmas, and Murphy hopes you get so many new toys (with or w/o squeakers!) that you don’t know what to play with first!
May the joy of the holiday wrap you all in its arms and keep you safe and healthy in 2021 and beyond.
Ginger and 🐾
Thanks for the good wishes, Ginger and we send the same back to you and Miss Murphy. We hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and a New Year that brings a lot of joy into your lives. The only solution to a squeakless toy is another new toy! Milk bones for everyone!
Thing is, there are no guarantees that 2021 will be any better and in fact, could go downhill but in the spirit of Old Saint Nick or somebody I am keeping optimistic for good things in the new year!
Aw, Poor Max!
But, I think ALL dogs are ALWAYS hoping there is MORE to eat! HA! 😀 I love how attentive dogs are when Human-Beans are chewing. 😉 😀
Hey, Max…
Remember…
“Good things come in small packages”! 😉
“Mini-sized stuff can be fun!” 😉
“I’m not short…my height is just cute.” 😉
“Often the smallest things occupy the most room in our hearts.” 🙂
Coop and I are wishing you GIANT snacks for Christmas and in the New Year! 🙂
Giant (((HUGS))), PATS, and RUBS!!! 🙂 And Wishing you and your Human-Beans a pawsitively doggone grrreat Christmas!!! 🙂 😀 😛
Max reminds me that if I pile up enough of the small milk bones, it will soon be the same size as the big one! Btw, those big ones we give to our next door neighbor dog – Boomer – who is a giant Black Lab + Great Dane mix. Max watches with we as Boomer gobbles a big milk bone in two bites. He could gobble Ma in two bites, too but they are sort of friends. Hope the season is wonderful for you, Cooper and everyone in your life!
Yes, we have friends with gigantic dogs and one of them calls Cooper “snack-size” or “fun-size”. I think he’s saying his dog could eat my dog. 😮 What’s up with that!? 😉 😀
HA! 😛
HA! That would be funny! 😀
Coop is super quiet unless someone rings the doorbell or he hears a noise he can’t recognize and wants to alert us to it. 🙂
It’s good he’s quiet…as his Mom is noisy. 😉 😀 😛
Yup, knocks at the door send Max into a frenzy and then the door opens and he is best friends with whomever is there…salesmen, Jehovah’s Witness, whomever.
Toby tried to make friends with the suspicious guy casing the neighborhood, and he barked at the police. I learned a lot about Toby’s judgement from this situation.
I really hope 2021 and beyond are filled with Milk Bones of all sizes! 🦴 🦴🦴🦴
Small milk bones all year for me, however, I found big ones at the end!
I canny wait for next year and its great promise.
Mind you, anything would be better than this year.
I wish Max and his subjects a huge Milk Bone for next year.
May it be a good one.
We send our best wishes for haggis-flavored milk bones with a bowl of The Balvenie on the side along with hopes that your Christmas is joyous and your new year full of warmth and happiness.
All I see is a $600 stimulus check versus a $2,000 one. At least the government is throwing us a bone while they sit on piles of them. Merry Christmas to you and Max! May your year be filled with many treats.
I didn’t think of the milk bone as money metaphor but I’m sure that my share is the little one. Maybe just a crumb. Merry Christmas to you guys and thanks for all the photos and putting up with the snarks and remarks. Hope 2021 is a really good and happy year for you.
Nox having seen the pictures of the milk bones, now wants the larger one. She’s no dummy – bigger milk bones are better. She doesn’t seem to care what flavor milk bones are, just that she gets one as a treat.
Happy New year to you, too! All’s well. By the way, since Max started using that ear medicine you recommended, he has not had any reoccurrences of problems. He says, “Thanks for the tip, Coop!”

What’s this “get” part? I’m already fat and so is Max.

Big or small, milk bones are still milk bones so let’s be grateful for small blessings.

Milk bones are good! The beige ones are the most delicious. I have that knowledge on good authority from the Malt!

Boomer’s bark is like thunder and Max sounds, well, yappy. It is funny when they get into a shouting match with each other.
